When wolves hunt the caribou herds during migration, they bust in the herd and cut a single animal out from the edge. The dominant wolf will run up behind the caribou and bite it one time on the back of the back leg so that it begins to bleed. Then the pack forms a line and keeps the single animal from rejoining the herd. The wolves will allow the animal to run alongside of the herd for a while but will slowly push it farther and farther from the herd. Eventually, the herd is out of sight, the loss of blood, and exhaustion overtake the lone caribou, and the wolves overtake the weaken animal with little resistance or danger.
The devil and his minions of darkness work the same way. He works on Christians who aren't totally sold out to Jesus and tries to cut them from the flock. Miss a few weeks of church, Bible studies, etc. ... and then they quit altogether because of their lack of commitment. We were warned of this in Hebrews 10:25 - Forsake not the assembling of yourselves together...Stay committed to your destiny and your church. As Christians, always watch the flock, especially the periphery of the flock that are susceptible to wolves. Check on them, tell them they are missed and encourage them to push towards greater commitment. The devil walks about seeking whom he can devour. (1 Peter 5:8) Help protect the flock.
