Let Go and Let God

Was I a control freak?  One day I discovered an area that I could not control, and it was one of the most difficult struggles that I've experienced. I cannot control a False Witness, when someone lies to others or someone in a position of authority about something I either did or said. This scenario has happened to me several times during the years that I’ve walked with God. I've either been privy to what someone has said publically or approached by someone in authority who heard something about me that wasn't true. Admittedly, it’s been hard to defend myself since it’s their word against mine; yet, it’s been during those times that I’ve learned to release any accusations to God because — He knows the truth!  It isn't my word against another’s that ushers in peace if I'm trying to defend myself; it's knowing Who matters the most in my life.  God matters the MOST, AND, again, He knows the truth.  If I'm trying to live my life to honor God, what others and/or authorities who may confront me say isn't important because God knows the truth, and He is my vindicator.  Unfortunately, I’ve wrestled with this “trial” because I do care about what others think about me and my reputation.  Yet, Jesus blessed those who cursed Him.  Instead of trying to control what others say and, ultimately, my reputation, I need to pray for those who may malign me via gossip or slander, and trust God to be my vindicator.

Joseph was in a “False Witness” position, after he fled the pursuit of Potiphar’s wife.  Even in the midst of rebuke and false punishment, He trusted His HEAVENLY Master and continued to serve God while in prison.

If you feel like you have been placed in a “false prison” due to unwarranted judgements, may I encourage you to: 1) Give the situation to God; 2) Trust God’s plan for your life; 3) Thank God for what He’s doing as you walk out His plan for your life; and 4) Forgive and Pray for those who falsely accused you.

Thank God! We may care about our reputation, but He cares about us!

“Lying about and slandering people are as bad as hitting them with a club, or

wounding them with an arrow, or stabbing them with a sword.” Proverbs 25:18 TPT

“Then they cried out to the Lord in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses. He sent His word and healed them. And delivered them from their destructions. Let them give thanks to the Lord for His lovingkindness, And for His wonders to the sons of men!” Psalms 107:19-21 NASB1995
