God's Well Is Still Open!

Not long ago, after a heartbreaking family tragedy, a loved one decided to cut us out of their life. We hadn’t caused their pain, yet somehow, we became the reason for it. At first, we waited—sure that time and love would heal the wound. But the silence grew longer. Holidays passed, messages went unanswered, gifts were not acknowledged. Our hearts were crushed. All we could do was respond with kindness, forgiveness, and prayer. Still, nothing changed.

In that season of grief, I discovered we weren’t alone. There is actually a term for what was happening

to us – it’s called, “The Cancel Culture.” Many people are quietly suffering the same loss—the pain of being canceled by those they love. Often, it’s not about what we did, but about something hurting deeply within them. Some run from shame, others from pain, and some just need someone to blame. But there comes a moment when you must stop chasing after them. 

I asked God what to do, and He whispered to my heart: “Stop pursuing them. You can’t heal them. You are not their rescuer or their scapegoat. They must walk their own journey with Me.” It was then I realized: my waving the flag of forgiveness couldn't fix everything. True healing comes when the pain of separation becomes heavier than the comfort of blaming others. That’s something only God can work out in their hearts.

So where do we go when we’ve been canceled? Back to God’s well - the place where His presence brings peace. Return to the scripture that once comforted you. Sing the song that lifted your heart. Remember the moment you felt His love wash over your pain. Suffering is never wasted when it leads us back to Christ. At His well - in his presence - we find strength to forgive, courage to wait, and faith to believe for restoration—on His terms, in His time. If you’ve been canceled, meet me at God’s well. The water is still flowing, and His love is still enough.
