Lord, Where Do You Want to Go Today?

I was on my way to an early morning dental appointment. I had packed my travel bag with 5 God Stories books, a book I was reading, a notepad and pen, and a bottle of water. On the drive there I was talking to the Lord and said to Him, “Lord, You direct my steps today. Lord, where do You want to go today? Who do You want to see today?” Such was my prayer
As I am waiting in the dental office in walks a UPS man. Right away he looks at me and says, “I know you. You used to be my PE teacher in school.”
I reply, “Yes, I was.” He introduces himself as Tony and we made small talk for a few minutes. He thanked me for teaching him and what wonderful memories he had of being in my class. As he is getting ready to leave, I tell him I have something for him. I reach into my bag and give him a God Stories book, explaining that these are true stories written by people where God has done wonderful things in, for, or through their lives. He’s very appreciative of the God Stories book and says he will read it. That was God encounter #1.
While talking to Tony, an older couple walk in and sit down. I could tell the woman was listening to our conversation. Once Tony leaves, she tells me, “You taught my grandchildren at school.” Now I’m surprised! What an encounter! I give her a God Stories book, but didn’t have time to chat with her as it was time for my appointment. That was God encounter #2.
As I am waiting in the dental chair, I ask the technician if she likes to read. “Not really, but I need to start doing more of it.” I show her a God Stories book and explain how people write short stories about the things God has done in, for, and through their lives. She’s interested in the book and then starts telling me about a cousin she had who was in a coma for over a week due to a reaction to medicine, and how God miraculously healed him. How the family members stood in faith believing God for his recovery, even when the doctors said he was probably going to die. I ask a few more questions about his miraculous recovery and tell her she could write a short story about what God had done in her cousin’s life. She thinks about it and says she might write the story, or show this book to her cousin who also might write about his testimony. We finish with my dental appointment, and as I am leaving, she says, “I will be in touch with you.” That was God encounter #3.
God is so faithful to answer our prayers. We are the carriers of the Lord Jesus.
