My Brain Exploded!

We spent Christmas 2017 with my sister in Iowa. The day before traveling back home we stop and pick up some snacks. As we’re leaving the store I tell my husband, “My head is pounding!” Within minutes on the road, I throw up. We stop at a gas station to clean up. When we get home, I go shower and I’m praying for God to help me with this pounding in my head. I get dressed and think, “It’s not going away.” I say to my husband, “Take me to the hospital.”
On the way there, I begin to convulse and pass out. My sister calls 911 and prays over me. In the ER my heart stops and they had to
revive me. The doctor tells my husband I have suffered a brain aneurysm. I was then transported to the University of Iowa in Iowa City, and straight into surgery.
The surgery was successful, but they tell my husband I would have to remain in the ICU for at least 7 days and ultimately for a month in a regular hospital room. God was with me and healing me by

supplying an awesome neurology team. After my month of recuperating, I was sent to rehab. God was my faithful companion and my faith was strengthened as God was teaching me patience, perseverance, and endurance. This whole experience was humbling, as I had to learn even the simplest tasks again, such as walking, eating, dressing myself, and cognitive skills to increase my memory loss.
I had many wonderful therapists who truly guided me to get better. My family members and friends were praying for my complete recovery. After two intense weeks of God helping me achieve all the goals they had for me, I was able to go home. A miracle!! Many were shocked on how quickly I recovered and progressed. The neuro doctor commented, as she read the report from Iowa, that I was a MIRACLE sitting in front of her. By August I had completely recovered and was able to resume my job as a teacher in Harlingen. This was a huge miracle in itself, along with everything else God did for me. Everyone asks how I did it. I simply said, “God did it, I just followed Him.”
“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13
