No Fear

It was December 26, 2025, and my 13-year-old granddaughter wanted to go shopping with her Christmas money. She and I began to travel to her desired store, which was a simple 5 miles from her home. The traffic was not bad on the freeway, and as always, I’m diligent about my turn signals, blind spots, and designated speed.

The exit was only a mile ahead, so I began to indicate that I was turning into the righthand lane.  My turn signal was on, I checked for my blind spots, and I prepared to merge into the righthand lane. Out of nowhere, a speeding vehicle, going in what I estimated was in excess of 100 miles per hour, showed up in that lane and was magnified in my rearview mirror!  I quickly returned to my original lane, overcompensating a bit.  Everyone else worked in tandem with us and hung back.  The racing car continued forward and blew out of sight.

I looked at my granddaughter with utter peace, saying, “Jesus Christ has saved us, and the glory of the Lord is among us.”  We rejoiced.  We carried on.  No spirit of fear ever entered that event.  All praise and honor and admiration to our Heavenly Father who stopped the mouth of the lion!

“Yea, thought I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,

I will fear no evil; for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.”

Psalm 23:4
