The Nations Are Yours: Finland

Thank You Lord, for the country of Finland that contributes much through the abundance of natural resources You supplied, being the largest gold producer in Europe, a top producer of ore, and the largest producer of wood in Europe. 

We ask for continued blessings on Finland as they serve You, with 63% of the population being Evangelical Lutheran.  We pray for a hunger and fire to stir amongst the 33% who do not know You as their personal Lord and Savior.  Awaken their hearts to the call of Jesus Christ.  Psalm 33:12 say, “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,” so we pray for the following point as You have blessed Finland in these areas:

• President, Alexander Stubb, Prime Minister, Petteri Orpo, Parliament, and Cabinet members as they lead the government of Finland.

• Welfare system as it guarantees decent living conditions for all residents in Finland.

• For those who serve in the army, navy, and air force, as Finland is one of Europe’s strongest military countries.

• That it continues to uphold the Non-Discrimination Act, stating everyone is equal before the law regardless of age, sex, religion, opinion, health, and disability.

• Continues to be ranked above average in democracy.

• Maintains its current land boundaries and have peaceful relations with Russia, as Finland joined NATO in April 2023, due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

• That Finland continues to be a country with low crime and corruption.

• That Finland remains a place of peace and enjoyment for tourists, as it continues to be ranked one of the happiest countries in the world since 2018.

We ask that glacial melting, which is exposing 2.7 square miles of new land a year, does not disrupt the ecosystem of Finland, which is home to a diversity of mammals, birds, and insects due to large uninhibited land masses.  Give the environmentalists creative ways to deal with the till (boulders, rocks, and sand debris), that is deposited along the melting glaciers edges.

Thank You, Lord, that Finland is a conscientious country, concerned about the environment and maintains high standards in waste management, climate change, air pollution, air quality, sustainability of forests, new developments in quick ripening and weather resistant crops, and space research.  Thank You for placing the country of Finland on the globe.
