There is Always a Golden Nugget!!

I call it a “God ordained encounter,” others call it coincidence, but there is no denying it when you know that you know, that God has set up that divine encounter with someone for a reason. That’s what happened to me today. Our "Boots on the Ground" group, (a community outreach), went to Loaves and Fishes (a homeless shelter, food pantry, and provides dining hall services) in Harlingen, TX to hand out clothing and GOD STORIES books and rack cards to those who would be attending lunch today.

As I walked around the lunch tables asking people if they had any prayer needs, I noticed a girl I had as a student probably 30 years ago. As she sat down with her lunch tray I approached her. She recognized me right away, gave a squeal of delight, and a huge bear hug. It was a GOD ORDAINED ENCOUNTER!! But God had more to reveal. I told her that I had seen her brother, __________, recently at DQ. She replied, “That was not my brother, that’s my son, and I have not seen him in 6 years. How is he? Does he look OK?” I assured her that he was fine and doing well, which calmed her anxiousness. I got her phone number and then prayed for her.
She wants us to meet again so she can “talk” about things in her life. Will I do it? Of course, because I know that I know, that she was the “golden nugget” God ordained today.
Jesus said to him, “’You shall love the LORD your God with all your heart,
with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ This is the first and great commandment.
And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ Matthew 22:37-39
