I am reminded of my mom telling me that you can say difficult things if you do it with a kind and gentle spirit. I sure miss Mom. She would tell me you can catch more flies with honey than vinegar. Now, honey has its place, but so does vinegar. It is important to know which to use at any given time. We are admonished by Scripture to speak the truth in love. The truth is not always pleasant to hear, but nonetheless, it must be spoken. Peter said, “It is only right that I should keep on reminding you as long as I live. (2 Peter 1:13 NLT). We all need reminders. Reminders are good. Say what only needs to be said, but let’s practice saying it from a kind and gentle spirit. Ephesians 4:15 says, “Speaking the truth in love, we should grow up in all things into Him who is the head, Christ.”
