Are You in a Cattle Chute?

I have worked cattle for the last 30 years, and the Lord has shown me so many things over that time relating the way cattle react with humans -especially Christians.
Recently, I needed to doctor my cattle and send grown calves to the sale. So, I rounded up the cattle in a big holding pen that necks down to a long, narrow chute where the cows are doctored and the calves are separated. The older cows are always docile, knowing the routine twice a year, and go peacefully into the chute, while the younger cows and especially the calves bounce off the fences wide-eyed and nervous, looking for any way, but the way I want them to go. And so it is with Christians. Mature believers understand destiny, purpose, and God’s direction and have learned over the years to flow with the Lord’s plan even as He puts us in a confining chute and as He teaches us to trust Him throughout the process. Young cows, calves and learning Christians do everything they can to do things their way, not trusting their Father and not wanting to submit to God’s plan. And never give it to God until they have made such a mess of it that in frustration, they throw it in God’s lap to fix their mess. Fulfillment in Christ comes in total trust and that comes with the confidence to know He has only good planned for you.
