"Every time you cross my mind, I break out in exclamations of thanks to God. Each exclamation is a trigger to prayer. I find myself praying for you with a glad heart." Philippians 1:3-4
When I received Christ as my Savior in April 1977, the Lord radically changed my life. The Christmas story of the birth of Jesus Christ as well as the Easter story of His death, burial, and resurrection became very meaningful and personal to me.
As I read the Philippians 1:3-4 passage, my heart is filled with gratitude for the person who prayed me into God's Kingdom in 1977. As a means of expressing my thanks for her fervent prayers, I wrote the poem, "Because You Prayed for Me" (see below) and sent it to her several years ago. Is there someone who prayed for you and you desire to thank? Feel free to include the scripture Philippians 1:3-4 and the poem below in a card to the person and put your person's name in the blank on the last line of the poem.
BECAUSE YOU PRAYED FOR ME...
my life turned around changing
my focus,
my heart,
my marriage,
my children.
BECAUSE YOU PRAYED FOR ME...
I passionately love Jesus Christ,
and others love Him, too.
BECAUSE YOU PRAYED FOR ME...
I pray for others
and they now do the same.
BECAUSE YOU PRAYED FOR ME....
The Lord gloriously answered your prayers
and my heart overflows with gratitude.
Thank you, Betty Thompson!
No one can say why some prayers seem to be answered soon and why some take so long. Yet we know this: God wants us to know that our prayers matter – and that He will do great things because you prayed.
