God Exposed the Thief

Many years ago, when I was a Town Marshal in a small community, I received a call from the local hardware store, that the owner wanted to talk to me about stolen items. When I arrived, he took me to the back of his store and told me that he had four new tires out there that had been stolen, and he did not know when this would have happened. He said it may have been last week or a month ago, or longer. He was not a well to do man, just a struggling, small businessman, and I felt very sad for him. However, I had no idea how to go about finding his tires. On the way out the door, I just prayed under my breath “Lord, will you please help me with this? I have no idea where to look.” 

As I stepped out the door, a car drove down the street in front of me, and it had four brand new tires on it! I recognized the driver as a thief, a repeat offender that I had arrested before. I got in my police car and went after him. He stopped and got out of his car, and I told him, “You need to either take these tires back, or pay for them.

He had the most shocked look! “How did you know I had these tires?” He said, “I waited a whole month to put them on in case anyone was looking for them. I just put them on this morning!”

I did not tell him about my secret weapon of prayer, but I was sure thankful to God for helping me with this situation! When we call for Him, He shows up! He had the answer in the works before I even asked! What a blessing it is to know where to go with any problem we may have!

"It shall also come to pass that before they call, I will answer;
