At 4 a.m. on July 4, 2025, Kerrville, Texas, experienced a devastating flood. The Guadalupe River rose 26 feet in 45 minutes! Over 100 people lost their lives. Many lost their homes and all their belongings. The Mountain Home, Divide, and Center Point Volunteer Fire Departments were the first responders on the scene. However, over the next several weeks, these heroes lost fire trucks and exhausted most of their resources in helping to save 850 lives.
MIRACLE #1: A Vacation Bible School group in Florida raised $4,800. With that money and what our church raised, my pastor and I had the privilege of delivering a check of $2,200 to each of the three Fire Departments Chiefs. As we gave two small checks worth $2,200 to the Mountain Home VFD, we asked to pray with the chief believing that God would multiply this gift and meet their needs. They had lost a fire truck which cost over $100,000. A week later Al Roker, representing a particular group, gave them a check for $100,000. What a miracle!
The Divide VFD commented that the money would meet many needs.
MIRACLE #2: We prayed with Charles Holt of the Center Point VFD and asked him how they were managing. Charles said God was blessing them because when the flood hit their station and washed out all their equipment, all their trucks were out rescuing survivors. When they returned to the flooded-out station, people from town were already busy cleaning out mud and debris.
MIRACLE #3: The Starlink WiFi communication system they had just purchased was destroyed. Suddenly, two people from Starlink appeared at the door to check on their equipment. Upon learning what happened, they offered to put in a replacement in the building and in each of the fire trucks for free! Electricity came back on the next day, but the printer wouldn't work. Again, a tech guy appeared at the door to check on the printer they had just purchased from their company. Lastly, a chainsaw that got carried away during the flood was replaced by a man who knocked on their door and was giving away new chainsaws. He wanted to know if they needed one?
God is a God of miracles! Do you believe?
“And my God shall supply all your need according to
His riches in glory by Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:19
