God's Miracles!

My wife passed away from Lupus 12 years ago. Now I was alone and things began to weigh me down.  I was angry with my neighbor over simple things and would lash out at her. This continual anger caused me to realize I shouldn’t be living like this. Anger was useless. I needed to change. I had been praying and asking the Lord to deliver me from anger when one day I needed a ride somewhere because my car didn’t work. I asked my neighbor and she kindly and cheerfully took me where I needed to go. Suddenly my heart melted and it felt like a huge weight had been lifted off of me. Jesus had just delivered me from anger. Not in a way I expected, but miraculously it was gone! God had answered my prayer.  

Four years ago, I was diagnosed with prostate cancer.  It was a terrible experience as I had doctor visits and then surgery. The doctor told me I would definitely need a second surgery. I didn’t want that. I knew God hears our prayer; so I kept praying for God to heal me. On a follow up visit six months later, the doctor was amazed! No surgery was needed. She said, “Whatever you’re doing, keep doing it.” It wasn’t anything I did, but God who set my free by healing me!  

Then a year later I had a stroke. Two weeks later as I was getting my mail I couldn’t walk back to my house. My neighbor took me to the ER and the doctor told me I was very fortunate to not have died even two weeks ago, because I had just now had a second stroke. I started to cry and to think about all

the things the Lord had set me free from: anger, cancer, two strokes. I was overwhelmed by God’s goodness in my life and how much He cares for me.

Now every morning when I wake up, I praise the Lord because each day is a WOW moment! I’m grateful to be alive!

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor

be dismayed, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
