January 20, 2025: Syria Heavenly Father, Syria is in need of much prayer. They are a country that has been in overwhelming conflict and has shed much blood against their own countrymen and neighboring countries, especially Israel, since Bible times. In Genesis 4:9-10 God askes Cain where his brother is and he replies, “I do not know. Am I my brother’s keeper?” God answers, “What have you done? The voice of your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground.” We pray that Syria be a peaceful country, not full of hatred and violence toward other human beings but recognizes the value of life, as it ranks 8th LAST on the Global Peace Index.
We bind the spirit of corruption that operates in Syria, as currently it is the most corrupt country in the Middle East, and is the largest multi-million illicit drug cartel in the world. Lord, what has been meant for evil can be meant for good. Turn Syria around and stop the corruption of drug sales, save the drug and export dealers, and let Your perfect will be done in Syria. Genesis 50:20
Lord God, we ask that Your Holy Spirit saturate Syria with the presence of God. We speak light into Syria so they do not sit in darkness under the false religion of Islam, which is 87% of the population, but hear the gospel of Jesus Christ, repent and be saved. For You are not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance, 2 Peter 3:9.
We say that the schools, colleges, media, and newspapers come out from under government control and censorship.
We pray for all the people living in Syria as 90% of the population lives in poverty and 80% face food insecurities daily. Lord God, open doors for humanitarian efforts to be allowed peacefully to enter the country and provide housing and food for the poor. Jesus said, “For I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in; I was naked and you clothed Me. Inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.”
