Just Because Jesus Loves You!

There is a song that says, “Give me Your love for humanity, give me Your heart, give me Your eyes so I can see.”  This was the prayer of those who went to Loaves and Fishes last week.  (Loaves and Fishes is a non-profit organization that provides food service, housing, and medical aid to those in the community.) 

Why do we go there?... because God has placed within our hearts a love to share Jesus with others.  Each time we go, we offer men and women’s clothing, socks, shoes, and jackets, where the people can take whatever they need.  This week we made 180 English and Spanish goodies bags, which we titled, JUST BECAUSE JESUS LOVE YOU!  Inside the bag were some snacks and a

homemade plan of salvation card.  Then, as the people came in to eat lunch, we asked if they would like a gift bag from Jesus.  This provided an open door for us to explain the plan of salvation, and then offer them a GOD STORIES book, which highlights testimonies of how God has worked in, for, and through people’s lives.

As that was happening, several of us would go from table to table, asking if we could pray for any need they might have.  When allowed, we got a glimpse into the burdens they were carrying and heard the struggles they were facing.  We encouraged them, prayed with them, asking and believing Jesus to meet their needs.

It was a rewarding time knowing that lives were changed because Jesus came and ministered to those who needed Him.      

“Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love;

 Therefore with lovingkindness I have drawn you.”  Jeremiah 31:3
