Loved Beyond Measure!

Imagine getting home from school and finding out that your mom has left to a different country and you are not sure when she will be back or why she left.

I was 9 years old when my mother left El Salvador and ventured towards USA.  I found out later that we were about to lose everything we had thus far, and it was her decision to go and try to save our home.

I was the baby of the family and was dealing with mom leaving when my aunt, dad’s sister, told me something that made the situation worse. She told me that when my mother found out that she was pregnant with me, she tried to abort me.  How the conversation came about, or why my aunt would tell me that, I have no idea.  But, as a child, all I heard was, “You were not wanted, you were not loved.”  I don’t have to tell you how devastating that is to a child.

I grew up believing that lie.  It was not until I began a relationship with Jesus that I found out that I was wonderfully and fearfully made.  How God knew me and loved me even when I was in my mother’s womb.  This fact has changed my life.  I know that I have a purpose.  I know that He has a plan and I am Blessed to be called a child of God!!!!

Psalms 139:13-14 says, “For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb.  I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Feeling loved beyond measure is a wonderful feeling.  Jesus has given me that gift.  I love my mother with all my heart.  I spoke to her about this years later and she explained the situation she was in.  The enemy does come to steal, kill, and destroy, but Jesus has come to give us abundant life.   Thank You Jesus!!!!

Dear Edith,

Your story moved me deeply. Thank you for your courage, your transparency, and for sharing how Jesus turned your pain into purpose. What the enemy tried to use to break you, God used to build something beautiful. Your life is a living testimony of Romans 8:28 — “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to His purpose.”

You were never a mistake. You were never unwanted. From the beginning, God had His hand on you. Even in the silence, in the confusion, and in the heartbreak of your childhood, He was with you, weaving purpose into every page of your story.
