As we completed our wonderful Hawaii vacation with our daughter and her family, my husband Danny’s problems with balance became worse and other problems began to arise. After returning home Danny’s doctor didn’t seem concerned but sent Danny for some blood work and a CT scan. As we were leaving the parking lot at the doctor’s office, Danny received a phone call that directed us to go immediately to ER which was just behind the hospital where the CT scan was done. They were waiting at the curb for us when we got there and took him immediately to ER and told us nothing. Of course, I had to park the car and check Danny in. When I finally was allowed to see Danny, they were getting him ready to be life-flighted to San Antonio because he had a brain bleed. I was terrified and Danny was totally unaware of how serious his condition was – I am positive that was just one of the many precious gifts from God that we received that day! At 7:30 p.m. that evening Danny was having brain surgery at BAMC at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio. What a day! We KNOW it was a miracle of GOD that Danny is alive and well today! The bleed was from a fall he had suffered a couple of months prior – something we thought was insignificant at the time. The pressure on the plane flying to and from Hawaii should have killed him or at the very least cause the bleed to be so bad that he would have been permanently and seriously disabled. Danny will be released by home health tomorrow. We have one more visit to his doctor in San Antonio and expect to be released. His steadiness on his feet has dramatically improved and it seems there will be no lasting problems. Praise God!
