SHARP EXCRUCIATING BACK PAIN! My health had drastically declined in one year. Upon reflecting, all the physical health attacks started when God began calling us to serve Him in a new way. It seemed like the enemy was trying to hinder God’s work and calling.
One July 2022 morning God put in my heart to invite the Indiana women from the church we attended to come to small group breakfasts at our condo plus have each attendee share a God story of something God did in, for, or through them. At the last breakfast on Nov. 2022, I cooked from 3am until the ladies arrived at 9am. Severe sharp back pain hit and I couldn’t get out of my chair or walk without assistance, but we all still shared our God stories that day. Even though I was still in pain, we flew home to Texas three days later.
Gayle and I realized our adult children and grandchildren hadn’t heard our God stories; so, we compiled them into a book called, “GOD STORIES And More” as Christmas gifts. Then Gayle said, “We’re NOT finished, but this book is an answer to our Nov. 2022 prayer, “Lord, how can we reach people who haven’t received Christ as their Savior?” The Lord made it known He was calling us to serve Him through GOD STORIES. Thus, in 2023 GOD STORIES And More booklets (English/Spanish) were created to reach out to others with the love of Jesus Christ.
Trying to be free of the excruciating pain, I went to the doctor and after numerous tests and pain meds, I still had the severe pain. Nothing helped. Nevertheless, we had a Dec. 9, 2023 GOD STORIES’ Christmas Celebration in our home and afterwards the tables and chairs were put up in the garage. The next morning, I walked into the garage behind Gayle and without noticing where I was walking, I tripped over the chairs falling extremely hard on my right side where the excruciating back pain had been for over a year. I thought this is not good. Will I be worse off now? Yet, there was no pain. None at all. Days later there was still no pain. WHAT???
The next week I went to the doctor’s appointment that had already been scheduled. I told the Physician’s Assistant what had happened and that I had no more pain showing her by twisting from side to side. Astonished, yet very pleased, she quickly remarked, “God gave you an adjustment.” Thank You, Lord, for raising me up pain free!
