I am probably the last person who will seek out strangers to talk to. I will definitely be cordial if they speak to me first. In general, I mind my business. Recently, my husband and I were on a trip out of town and staying at a hotel. I always take God Stories booklets with me to leave on the nightstand with a nice tip for the housekeeping staff. This trip, I happened to have a goodie bag as well. While we were eating breakfast at the hotel, there was a notable difference in everyone working. They were all so friendly and helpful. One lady in particular helped us and had a great smile. We saw her the next morning as well and spoke to her again. Immediately, I was prompted in my spirit to go to the room and bring her the goodie bag along with the tip money. She received it with joy and gave me a big hug! We talked a little more, and I wished her a Merry Christmas and gave her another hug before we left.
On our way up to our room, we ran into another lady. She was selling timeshare vacations, so we
politely declined but continued talking to her. We shared a little bit of our Dave Ramsey fueled
financial journey. She was surprised at how much we sounded like her parents. Her mom even had the same name as my mom! One thing I remember her saying was she needed some direction in her life! We said goodbye so we could check out of the hotel. While in the room gathering our things, I realized I had 2 extra God Stories books. I left one with a tip as I originally intended and stuck the other in my purse. We went back downstairs and saw the sales lady speaking with another couple. She had paused long enough for me to quickly hand her the book, Divinely Directed!!! How's that for a perfect fit!!?! I told her that I wrote a story about how my husband and I had met. She said she would read it and we said goodbye. When the Holy Spirit puts someone in your path and a prompting in your heart, it seems to just flow effortlessly!
"But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” Acts 1:8
