Lord, You said that those who would be faithful in little things would be faithful in much, Luke 16:10.  We thank You for the faithfulness of Morocco in these ways:

  1. Since 1777 it recognized the independence of the United States from England and was protective of US merchant ships on the seas.

  2.  Since 1786 Morocco has been a constant friend of the United States when it entered the American Treaty of Friendship with the United States, which is still in existence today as the oldest unbroken treaty.

  3. That Morocco was proactive during WW2 refusing the deportation of thousands of Jewish citizens living in Morocco at that time.

  4. That Morocco has not been antisemitic towards the Jewish people, as prior to Israel’s independence in 1948, Morocco had the largest Jewish community in the Muslim world.

  5. Morocco and Israel have entered into a normalized agreement allowing direct flights, promoting economic cooperation, and establishing full diplomatic relations between the two countries.

  6. Thank You, God, that Morocco has upheld Israel and the Jewish people and they shall be rewarded for their faithfulness as Psalm 122:6 says, “Pray for the peace of Jerusalem:  May they prosper who love you.”

May Morocco once again be flooded with Christian influence as it was during the Roman Empire and up until 1956.  More recently Moroccans have left due to fear of government persecution.  Anyone proselyting for any religion, other than Islam, is punishable for a maximum of 15 years in jail.  Lord, protect the Moroccans who have converted to Christianity as “secret worshippers.”

We lift up the land of Morocco as it has experienced a rapid rate of habitat loss due to off trading (illegal) use of animals and plants for food, souvenirs, and photo props.  Due to urbanization, real estate expansion, and the need for wood, deforestation is a major concern.

Send more doctors and nurses to help the sick as the ratio is 6.3 and 8.9 respectively for every 10,000 Moroccans, and only 16% of the population have health insurance.

Praise God that Morocco has the largest phosphate reserve in the world, making it the economy’s number one export, along with agriculture and tourism.

Thank You, Lord, for the country of Morocco.
