Who's Eavesdropping?

My precious friend, Jewel, and I were eating lunch at a restaurant while sharing and encouraging one another with passages from the Bible and the great things the Lord has done.

Little did we know that the man from the next table had been eavesdropping. As we were sharing, the man came to our table and not saying a word he quickly placed a paper napkin on our table and immediately left the restaurant before we could say anything.

Puzzled by what had just happened, we looked down at the napkin and noticed he had written, "I overheard your conversation. I used to be a pastor and what you shared with one another deeply moved and touched my heart."

After being somewhat stunned by what had just occurred, we remembered that not only do others sometimes listen in on our conversations, but so does the Lord. For Malachi 3:16 says, "Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard." Even though this happened almost 40 years ago, it still reminds me to be mindful of my conversations because SOMEONE'S EAVESDROPPING . . . possibly others, but the Lord is always listening.

"Then those who feared the Lord talked with each other, and the Lord listened and heard." Mal.3:16
