WHY SHARE YOUR TESTIMONY?

Updated: Mar 29

In 2002 I was diagnosed with cancer. While waiting for the diagnosis of what kind of cancer I had, and the stage I was in, I gave God thanks for the fifty-two years of life He had given me. I thanked Him for my children, by name, and for my wife Mary. While waiting for the results of the biopsy I received the message three times —” by His stripes…” I shared my testimony with our pastor and he asked if I would be willing to give the testimony with him and his wife at the local TBN affiliate. I agreed. After the session aired, I received three notices from friends about the testimony.

Years later, I wondered if it had changed anyone’s life. I know it had changed mine and Mary’s.

Ten years later, I was working with a charter school and was attending a workshop in San Antonio, Tx. I woke up, prayed, and went down to the restaurant to have breakfast. The waitress came over and offered me coffee. We started to chat and started talking about our Christian beliefs. She testified how Christ had worked a miracle in her husband’s life. He had lived a life of addiction, but God had also changed him and her. They had started a street ministry in downtown San Antonio. I shared how my pastor had asked me to go to the local TBN station to give my testimony. I shared that testimony with her. Then I noticed her eyes get big and she got teary-eyed. She said, “That was you! – My husband heard your testimony and that’s why he changed his way of life and now we have a street ministry!” I got teary-eyed. You never know who your testimony will impact! God’s power spans the world.

“And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, and they loved not their lives unto the death.” Revelations 12:11
