Driving home from the elementary school where I worked to my home is approximately 1 mile and my home is on a busy highway.
While driving slowly from school one afternoon the pelting rain was so hard that I could barely see. So, I surveyed my surroundings as I approached my house. I stopped in the middle of the highway to turn left because an 18-wheeler was approaching my way on the opposite side of the road. Then I looked into my rearview mirror and saw with horror a truck barreling down on me oblivious that I was stopped waiting to turn left.
Gayle was inside the open garage watching everything unfold and wide-eyed he thought I was getting ready to be killed in a horrific wreck.
Suddenly I heard softly, but firmly, “Move forward slowly!” I did. Looking in my rearview mirror I could see the truck rapidly coming up behind me suddenly slammed his brakes spinning 360 degrees and going off the road barely missing me by inches.
If I hadn’t quickly obeyed the Lord’s voice, “Move forward slowly!”, I would have been rear ended and possibly slammed directly in front of the on-coming 18-wheeler. GOD SPARED MY LIFE!
“Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go;
he’s the one who will keep you on track”. Proverbs 3:6 MSG
