Everyday there seems to be new hurdles that need to be jumped over. You see one hurdle on the horizon and you run and run and finally jump over it. You think that you are done and the race is over and suddenly you look further down the track and there is ANOTHER hurdle in sight. You wonder how many hurdles there are that you can’t see yet. It doesn’t matter because in order to complete the race, each hurdle has to be jumped.

My BIG dog, Bruce, recently went through ear surgery. And since he is a BIG dog, he can be difficult to handle, especially in and out of a car and in a waiting room. Each phase of his surgery seemed like a hurdle to me that was a BIG deal to handle. First it was the examination, then the estimated cost, then the actual surgery, the removal of the bandages the day after his surgery, the 14 days of wearing the “cone of shame”, and then finally getting the stitches out. There were many trips back and forth to the vet.

God heard the prayers I prayed as I was facing each hurdle and He was there to see me through it all. Like Psalm 34:4 says, “I sought the Lord, and He heard me, and delivered me from all my fears.” Thank You, Lord, for hearing my prayers and delivering me. You are an awesome God !!
