Little boys who grow up to become godly men or what the Bible refers to as 'Men of Valor’ do so by seeing other men who they aspire to become like.
Were it not for men like my biological dad and my spiritual dad Clyde Causey I don’t believe I would be the man I am today.
You see men have a way of rubbing off on one another — for better or worse. We will be influenced as well as influence others simultaneously.
Therefore, we must become intentional in becoming the man God designed us to be while maintaining an awareness that we are influencing others at the same time.
Let me be clear — Becoming or being a man of valor does not include perfection. There are no perfect men. But I believe being a man of valor has characteristics such as being a courageous protector, a decisive leader, and a faithful partner. One who can stand alone and inspires others while being sensitive as well as being able to cry and bond.
As men we also need to be vulnerable and transparent. We must be willing to allow others to see and know the struggles of our journey and allow them to follow.
Someone said, “A real leader (man of valor) will take you where you would not dare go on your own.,
It was Jesus who said, “Follow me and I will make you fishers of men.” Matthew 4:19
Let me encourage all men to rise us and become the men that your family, friends, and community are looking to follow.
